Android Software
Hello Sho,

I would love to control my RepWalker via the Android phone. I have some Bluetoth modules from DX.com here. But I never tried to use it. Do you have a wiring and a software for control? If you don't like to post it here because it is not "clean" enough for the public you might send it by mail?

RE: Shellmo BT for Android
Hi Rainer,
Thank you every time.

I will publish to all members soon, but here is the install file of ShellmoBT for AndroidOS.
Already I checked with some phones(Xperia AcroHD, Nexus5 etc) and works well.
It's required Android 2.3.0 or later.

Install

If you can, would you please tell me about your Bluetooth module?

RE: Shellmo BT for Android
I can help.
I will make Arduino UNO code for controlling this servo with ShellmoBT(Android).

Basically, we don't have to modify Android apps. Only modifying Arduino code.
This app send simple charactor like "w", "1" to Arduino by using Bluetooth.

Could you make the Android apps easy accessible (google store) for the people at the Maker Faire please. So everybody could control my RepWalker by his personal phone.

If the google store is not an option how could I distribute it on the fair - I have a book about this but never got through it totally - to many projects running... (Professional Android Open Accessory ISBN 978-1-118-45476-3)

This are my BT modules. The right one is from you. I did not touched or programmed them till now...

I need M O R E I N P U T as #5 would say.

Oh great, you did it!

My phone works on Froyo and ShellmoBT needs Gingerbread at least - reason to buy a new one ;-)

But I could install it on my Nexus7 tablet. Now I need the key in my brain how to do it on the Arduino side...

Thanks a lot - with this we are a step forward with this challenge.

RE: Shellmo BT for Android
Hello Sho,

your BT program works fine. Then I attached the servos for the eyes and wrote a little code - quite fine and impressive to see your good work. Can not take a movie because my camera battery is empty and i want to go to bed now;-)

Biggest issue are interruptions in the BT connection. We have two possibilities for that. Voltage drop when starting all four servos or radio disturbance. But because of the digital transmission I think it will be an energy problem. But I had the same problem with batteries or with batteries plus power cord... Maybe some capacitors at the right place and it will work..

Thanks for the good work
Rainer

App for Android Froyo 2.2
Hello Sho,

would it be possible to make the Android App for Frojo (2.2) also. I remember that it is "only" a setting in the prgamming interface.

But maybe Frojo has a different BT interface and a to low screen resolution to have a nice user interface?

The advantage of a Frojo App is that you can use "your" old phone - which in fact is my actual phone Blush

This is not a priority #1!
